...I saw you're and lairds discussion about finnish earlier. How do you have this many conjugations...is it like a different conjugation for each day of the month or what?

There are 15 noun cases but you can add all sorts of suffixes to them while retaining grammatical correctness. In reality you'd only need to learn most of the first panels word forms and about 2/3rd's of the second one's forms to speak proper Finnish.
I can barely understand all the most complicated ones and I'm Finnish!

That is crazy. I heard that the only language finnish is related to from a linguistic perspective is hungarian. My dad actually made it to Finland once doing something for Nokia I think.

Estonian is even more closely related but those are the only two bigger languages that are related to finnish. There are some other languages spoken by small minorities in Russia which are related to finnish too.

English conjugations are easy. The thing that kills people is the grammar and the spelling. Seriously, our words are messed up. And also, they sound ugly, and don't flow well.
Makes me like Spanish more and more. Spelling's super easy, and conjugations are manageable...
Until you get to verbs like ir, leer, estar, gustar, ser... Yeah.

Swedish (and Danish and Norwegian) aren't so bad. Singular/plural, definite/indefinite and add an S for the genitive case. Finnish is something else again.

I took Finnish lessons as a kid. This is the reason that I don't speak Finnish.
